Becky is a multi-talented member of Dr. Bassham's incredible team, wearing many hats with knowledge galore. Becky has been in the orthodontic field for eight years, and she worked in general dentistry for three years. During your complimentary new patient consultation Becky will provide you with a financial workup and educate you about the choices available in today's orthodontics. Becky's love and enthusiasm for her patients shines through as she takes you through the first steps of creating your perfect smile. Outside the office Becky volunteers her spare time as Secretary of the Miss Mountain Empire Pageant System, an official Miss VA and Miss America preliminary. Becky also coaches the pee-wee cheerleading squad and loves spending time with her family. Becky resides in Abingdon, VA with her wonderful husband Chad and her beautiful children Christopher and Carrington. Her family pets are Bosley, a Scottish Terrier, and Fiona, a Husky. * Becky is now supporting the new innovation clear braces that are virtually invisible! Angie
Lindamood-Appointment/Financial CoordinatorAngie has been with Dr. Bassham for five years, prior to that she worked for an Insurance Company for twenty years. Yes she is the oldest person on the team. She has known Dr. Bassham since she started practicing, she treated her son and to this day he has a beautiful smile. She loves to talk and meet new people, so this is the job for her. Outside the office she loves spending time with her husband David of 25 years and her 21 year old son Brack. She loves shopping, eating, and football! (highschool, college, and especially UT football!) She has been told by the rest of the team that she is OCD and type A-Go figure! Vashti
Alford-Lab Technician/Clinical Assistant/Patient RecordsVashti has been working for the Bassham team since 2003. She works in the lab making orthodontic appliances and trimming models. She went to Great Lakes Ortodontics in Tonawanda, NY in 2008, and received her certification in Intermediate Removable Appliance Fabrication, Advanced Appliance Fabrication, Soldering, Biostar, and Minstar. You will also see her assisting, patient records, and helping out around the office. She loves watching the transformation from a not so perfect smile to a perfect smile, and seeing how happy the patients are when they see the end result. Away from work, Vashti loves spending time with her boyfriend Trent and his son TJ. She also enjoys playing with her pets Salene, Puppy, Kit-Kat, and Gracie. She loves collecting butterflies, crocheting, and drawing. Cora
Elmore-Clinical Assistant/Insurance CoordinatorCora was a patient with Dr. Bassham when she decided that this was the career she wanted to pursue. She loved coming to the office for her appointments, it was always a fun experience. She has been a part of the team for 4+ years. Cora is crossed trained and enjoys working as a clinical assistant and receptionist. She also enjoys the challenge and structure needed to process and follow up on countless insurance claims that pass through the office. She loves interacting with all the patients and watching their smiles change. She looks forward to getting to know you and making this an exciting experience for you, as it was for her. Summer time is her favorite time. She loves the outdoors, whether it be riding motorcycles with her husband Jimmy, or riding bikes on the creeper trail. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and friends. Whitney has been an orthodontic assistant for 3+ years. She will be placing your brackets, appliances, and working with you throughout your treatment. She hopes that she can be helpful to you and your family in answering any questions you may have. She looks forward to meeting new people and is excited to be a part of helping you achieve the smile you have always wanted. Outside the office her hobbies include spending time with her husband, B.J. They are expecting their first child in December, Brycen Reid. She also loves spending time with her family and friends, and volunteering at her local fire department. Vida
DeBord-Clinical Assistant/OSHA CoordinatorA wonderful thing happened 20 years ago when Vida was hired as an orthodontic assistant. She loves being a team player with her co-workers. Her former patients are now bringing in their own children, remembering the professional treatment they had previously received from Dr. Bassham. Supported by a great boss, Vida is constantly striving for personal and professional improvements and plans to work with Dr. Bassham until retirement. Vida is much in love with her husband, Steve; they had their wedding vows renewed at 15 years. Blessed with a wonderful son, Levi, whom now attends High School. Away from the office family, Vida enjoys attending church, houseboating, water sports, camping, motorcycing, cooking and spending time with her black lab, "Salty Dog". Siri was named after “The Goddess of Humor” in Norwegian Mythology. She says she’s no goddess however her sense of humor and positive attitude have been an addition to our office since July 2009. Siri loves people and enjoys being part of a team of orthodontic excellence. She serves our patients as a clinical assistant and receptionist. “There’s nothing like the drive home!” She says heading into Damascus where she and her two incredible sons (Seth, 14 and Jarod, 12) reside within walking distance of the Appalachian Trail and the Creeper Trail. There, she enjoys the mountains: hiking, biking, and canoeing. Siri also finds some quiet time to pursue her passion of writing. In 2006, she received The Elie Wiesel Foundation Prize in Ethics in New York City for an essay she wrote on social justice. Susan's 13 years of orthodontic experience has given our office a depth of knowledge and her caring attitude has been an asset to our staff and a blessing to our patients. She received her dental training at the Washington County Skill Center and from there went to Northeast State, where she obtained an Associate's Degree in Science. We are fortunate to have Susan on our team. Away from the office she enjoys being a mother of four children and a wife to her husband Phillip. They love to go camping at the lake, water sports and being together with family and friends. Kristin joined our team as a clinical assistant in April 2009. Her youthful spirit and caring personality have been an amazing addition to our staff. She has worked since she was 16 and enjoys the field of orthodontics. Kristin loves animals, although not a vegetarian, she is an animal activist. At home Kristin spends time with her husband John and son Mason. They love cooking out, four-wheeling, and having family get togethers. |
